Description | It was stated in the decision, dated 6 February 1899, given by the Sanjak Administrative Council that the grasshopper eggs to be collected shall weighed by the office of municipality in the sanjak center, that a special register shall be hold to record the amount of eggs and to specify which villages and people collected them, and finally that these eggs shall be exterminated. On 2 March 1899 and 6 March 1899, Mehmed Al Ezheri Effendi the official sent here the 51 kilo of grasshopper egg he had taken from the Ta’amara bedouins in an oak land. These eggs were burned in the Hamam al-Ayn furnace. It is appropriate to submit the matter for information of the Mutasarrıf his excellencies. The 9th of Mârt (1)315 (21st of March 1899).
