Description | Even though the people here enjoy good health with the help of Allah the Sublime, an examination was made by a commission composed of the doctors located in Jerusalem. In the report given by the commission, it is stated that it is necessary to supervise detrimental foods, to liquidate other putrid materials, and to do the city cleaning at night. For the follow-up of the things to be done in accordance with the said report, it has been decided that one of our council members attend in turn. Additionally, a notice was sent to the Chief Rabbi in order to advise the Jews living outside the city walls to pay attention to cleaning, and necessary measures were taken. Nonetheless, it is still necessary, as it was done in previous years, to issue necessary warnings to and levy a fine from foreign people who defy this order. Despite the fact that there is a supervisor appointed by various consulates as a proxy in order to facilitate these collections, no benefit has been obtained. It is thus appropriate to send an official letter from the mutasarrıf to consulates in order to state that it is necessary to send a prohibitor in turn every week. The 27th of Huzayrân (1)310 (9th of July 1894). [5 signatures] |
