Description | The name of the deceased Musa Yabcı (?), Musa Levi Al Kerci (?), Al Tacir İshak Barlu (?), İshak Levi Al Tacir, Salom Kukya (?) Al Tacir, Abram Al Kerci El Tacir (?). In the verdict, dated 20 February 1894, sent from the Sanjak Administrative Council, it was stated that no deceased be buried in the miri land next to the Jewish cemetery, a land purchased a while ago by the Russian citizen Davud Mordehay Soyli and that the municipality pay continuous attention as regards this matter. Moreover, the Chief Rabbi warned all Jews about in this regard. Nevertheless, it was understood as a result of the investigation that the above-written persons took no notice of this warning and buried the person named Musa Yabcı (?) who died today in the said land by force. In accordance with the 254. article of the Penal Code in effect as regards this matter, it has been decided to punish each of them with a fine of 125 piasters in total. It is appropriate to send an official letter from the mutasarrıf to the Russian Consulate to which the said person is subject, in order to warn that if any deceased is again buried there, the corpse shall be removed from the relevant official and buried in the public cemetery in accordance with the 33. article of the Land Code. The 3rd of Aylûl (1)310 (15th of September 1894). [No signatures] |
