Description | According to the notifications about the visit of one of the princes to Jerusalem, it became necessary to sprinkle some roads outside and inside the city. After deliberations, the need has been determined to be 1225 water buckets a day. Since it has been understood that the mentioned prince will stay for two days, it was decided to bring Khâlidî Zâda and Muhyî al Dîn Effendi, the water contractors from Manjâ Batîr and al Haniya. After discussions it was agreed to deliver and sprinkle the daily amount on the mentioned roads for two days, with 50 paras to be paid in installments for each bucket. Some roads also needed to be cleaned from rubbish and dirt with the knowledge of the municipal guard Mahmûd Aghâ, to provide the needed workers and the horse that will be stationed outside the city on a permanent basis, with the leveling of the carriage road which is located inside Jaffa Gate and Damascus Gate until Lion’s Gate and the respected government, with the knowledge of one of us, the respectable Tahir Effendi and the respectable Nâjî Effendi. Some guards also need to be stationed on some points to stop people from urinating on the roads. Around 10 lanterns should be installed in the area where the prince will pass and some old dirt should be removed from the roads. The municipal inspector was assigned the task. In order to start implementing these orders, this decision was taken on the 17th of Tishrîn Awwal (1)317 (30th of October 1901). [5 signatures] |
