Description | We announce to all butchers in Jerusalem that the veterinarian Effendi inspector will be dispatched to the slaughterhouse on daily basis to inspect slaughtered sheep and cows. If some of them are weak or ill or unsuitable for slaughter and human consumption, they will not be slaughtered. Those that are healthy and edible will be slaughtered. Before sending them to the market for sale, they will be tagged with a special tag; this will be done starting from Tuesday, the 5th of Shubât (1)317. According to this and starting from the stated date, if inspectors found untagged animals, they will be confiscated immediately, and the butcher will be penalized according to the law, so beware of this violation. In order for this to be known, this procedure was published on the 31st of Kânûn Thânî (1)317 (13th of February 1902). [7 signatures] |
