Description | It was understood from the investigation that two sentry boxes, one masonry and one wooden, must be constructed for the gendarme stations located at Bab al-Cedîd and Bab el-Zahire; that there is a protected place in the prison; that the soldiers, who had lodged in Jerusalem for a short time and come from the villages, were staying in the Borizân wards within the barracks; and that five sentry boxes must be constructed for the gendarme stations located at the gates of Damascus Gate, Hebron and Seyyide Meryem, additionally for the one in the vicinity of the old coffehouse belonging to the municipality and the one opposite the municipal hospital. It is hereby presented that our municipal council could not agree on whether it is necessary to construct a gendarme station at Haram al-Sharif. The 29th of Kânûn Awwal (1)310 (10th of January 1895).
