Description | Concerning the livestock sale taxes As a result of the investigation of Dutch auction bills, it has been understood that a livestock sale tax of 2 piasters is being taken on a lump sum basis in Jerusalem from each horse, packhorse, mule and donkey, and four piasters from each black cattle and camel; that these taxes in fact belong to the Goods’ Fund and as written in the constitution of the municipal council in Jerusalem, that they are wholly reserved to the municipality and half of them were taken to the Treasury in 1304 (1888-1889).
