Description | Upon the application by the Sanjak Administrative Council, The Council of State approved that a tax of 1 piasters be taken from the loads of cereals, vegetable, wood and coal carried by camels, 0..2 piasters from the loads carried by horses and mules, 0.1 piasters from the loads carried by donkeys, 2 piasters from the loads of various goods carried by camels, 1.5 piasters from the loads carried by horses and mules, and 1 piasters from the loads carried by donkeys. Through the Council of State’s mandate dated 31 July 1884 and the decree, dated 1 September 1884 and numbered 24, sent from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was stated that this tax shall be taken for 12 years. The said tax was thus collected and spent for the renewal of the town’s pavements and for the reparation and construction of roads. The annual income obtained from this tax is 3,000 lira and it was understood that this amount is enough to expand the streets and to transform them into a macadam. If it is deemed suitable by the Sanjak Administrative Council, for the permission to collect the said tax for 30 years, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Sanjak Administrative Council. The 22nd of Shubât (1)311 (6th of March 1899). [No signatures] |
