Description | The said doctor has served as the municipal doctor for many years. And the hereby presented record by the Office of Judiciary and the collective petition by the folk would suffice to make it clear that the said doctor not only made no mistake during his period of office, but also received the approval and sympathy of the folk thanks to his success in his profession. Ermenak Effendi, who has been approved to be appointed instead, cannot speak Arabic, so he will not be able to to take care of three to four hundred women applying to our council’s pharmacy three times a week, as he cannot afford to treat indeterminate illnesses which cannot be expressed via a translator. It can never be considered appropriate that the poor folk be deprived of somebody like Foti Effendi, who is cognizant not only of the local language and customs but also of the nature and temperament of the folk, so please be informed that permission is given for him to continue his duty. The 6th of Tammûz (1)314 (18th of July 1898). |
