Description | Upon the letter, dated 25 May 1901 and numbered 17, sent by the Ministry of Justice and Denominations, regarding questions whether there is any hospital named Aşkenâzi Even though there is no hospital in Jerusalem by the name of Aşkenâzi, there is a hospital within the city by the name of Bikur Hovlim (?) belonging to the Ashkenazi. It is understood that it was opened thirty years ago and no record of an edict or decree was found that shows that a license had been given for the construction of this hospital. Thus, it is appropriate to inquire Jewish Rabbinate so as to explain whether the hospital administration is run by the subject of the Ottoman State or by foreign subjects. The 25th of Huzayrân (1)317 (8th of July 1901). [3 signatures] |
