Description | It has been learnt from the said director that the agricultural season of vineyards here begins in December and ends in February. It has thus been stated that the agricultural season ends this year, that eight to ten thousand grape sapling can be given next year and that these must be demanded at least in January in order to be able to bring them up at a certain time. It has been stated that, since a great quantity of saplings will be acquired in the third year from those to be planted in the first year, the necessary amount can be taken and planted, and that, someone from the Madrasah of Agriculture can be sent there for free in order to acquaint himself with the method of its agriculture. The special permission granted with regard to vineyards to be planted with American saplings was previously announced by here and also made known by Jewish newspapers; and it is obvious that incentives shall be given to the townsfolk for changing the current vineyard saplings. The 11th of Nîsân (1)316 (24th of April 1900). [1 signature] |
