Description | It has been observed by the military that four shops have been started to be constructed in southern Bâb-al-Halil, on the side of the newly opened road adjacent to the gate. It is not appropriate to construct buildings on roads; and even if shop construction is appropriate, it must be carried out by the municipality. Therefore, a letter was presented by our council on 10 June 1901 in order to stop the construction of said shops. However, a letter was sent by the military to the office of mutasarrifate for this purpose in mind and the office of mutasarrifate entered a note below this letter, stating that this matter would be negotiated by the Sanjak Administrative Council, so the construction could not be stopped. Hence, since the said shops are still in the process of construction, the width of this road shall be composed of eight meters as shown in the enclosed map. Therefore, it is appropriate to relegate this letter to the Sanjak Administrative Council in order to take necessary action in respect thereof. The 31st of Mayîs (1)317 (13th of June 1901).
