Description | Although the said matter does not involve the municipality at all, the Public Works Commission was under the administration of the head of the municipal council in 1304 (1888-1889), so the cost of making a macadam for the village of Ayn Kerim was put to Dutch auction. After the completion of bidding, it has been decided that the work be provided by Yusuf Bulas (?) through the guarantee of Ahmed İbrahim at a rate of 16 piasters as respected akçe for each meter of macadam. For the purpose of covering the necessary expenses, in the said village a debt of 150 French liras have been allocated to the Latin monastery, 200 liras to the Russians, 100 liras to the Sion nuns, i.e., 450 liras in total. Upon the beginning of the said work, 160 French liras have been collected from the Russians, 110 liras from the Latin monastery and 50 liras from the Sion nuns, i.e., 320 lira in total and this sum has been given to the petitioners. The remaining debt is 130 lira. On the other hand, our council does not know whether the said road is constructed in harmony with the specifications. For issuing an official letter as required, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Public Works Commission. The 21st of Aylûl (1)310 (3rd of October 1894). [3 signatures] |
