Description It is stated in the 39. article of the Regulation of municipal councils that the spaces left over the arrangement and leveling of roads and bridges shall belong to municipal councils. The wooden sentry box, previously made adjacent to Bab-al Halîl and its gate for the residence of sergeants was removed and its place remained empty. The military observed that some shops have been begun to be constructed there; things being thus, if it has been considered appropriate to construct shops in this locale, it shall be necessary to carry out the construction by way of the municipality in line with the said regulation. Hence, so as to come to a decision following a negotiation on this topic, it is necessary to take the opinion of the mutasarrifate with respect to halting the construction of the said shops. The 28th of Mayîs (1)317 (10th of June 1901).
