Nothing has remained from last year’s crops due to the fact that wheat crops are insufficient for the townsfolk in the sanjak of Jerusalem and this year’s crop is approximately composed of 4 million şenik. The price of each şenik is 6 piasters as respected current akçe. It has been learned from the experts that each şenik was 6 piasters as respected current akçe last year and this year’s crops would not be sufficient for the townsfolk unless any wheat is imported. The 31st of Tâmuz (1)313 (12th of August 1897).
