Description | With the Ministry of Commerce and Public Works official letter numbered 92 and dated 30 May 1892, it has been reported that the administration of the 1,200-meter long part of the Hebron Road from the gate called Jaffa to the train station and the 1,100-meter long part of the Eriha road through the location named Herod's Gate are to be transferred to the m. Besides these abovementioned roads, there are other roads leading to the hospital. Although these roads are renovated with the tax revenues collected from suburb car taxes and construction taxes, since the construction tax has been removed, it will not be possible to renovate all the roads in question with the municipality revenue. If the Commission of Public Works (Nafia Komisyonu) locates the beginning of the macadamized road heading from Jerusalem to Jaffa as the buildings of the Russian as determined by the Ministry of Public Works and if this part is renovated by funds from the Public Works Coffer (Nafia Sandığı), this will be of incredible help to the municipality. Hence, the council found it appropriate to implement it accordingly and pay the expenses in exchange for the renovation of other roads and to refer the issue to the Commission of Public Works to discuss. The 4th of Kânûn Awwal (1)312 (16th of December 1896). |
