Description

Upon the letter given on 12 June 1900 by the Police department
In the budget arranged by the Municipal Association, a monthly sum of 3,100 piasters is allotted for the watchmen to be employed in the city; taking this sum into account, 4 sergeants and 27 watchmen are used in accordance with the hereby presented register. Their names and the amount of their salaries are shown in the said bill. During the appointment of the watchmen on duty, due attention has been devoted to the fact that they are sufficiently experienced and capable. Nonetheless, if among them there is anyone who is observed by the police offers to have flaws in fulfilling their duty, it is appropriate to appoint others by way of the Police Administration. It has been considered appropriate that, henceforth, for the payment of the watchmen’s salaries at the end of every month, again through the said fund, a register be drawn up to show their names and collection of the specified salaries from the municipal fund and that it be given to our council with the ratification by the Police Council. For taking due actions in respect thereof, it is appropriate to relegate the matter to the Police department. The 13th of Huzayrân (1)316 (26th of June 1900).
