Description | During the council’s deliberations it appeared that the two wooden shops outside Jaffa Gate, next to the wall, are inappropriate and it is necessary to remove them from that place because of the visit of the German Prince, and because these shops block the path. Accordingly, it has been decided to remove them. Therefore it was essential to talk to the tenant Khalîl al Yâfî, who said he rented them to sell lemonade and he only used one of them starting from Muharram (1)328 until this date. After calculating the time of rent, it was clear that a sum of 173 piasters should be taken from him to the municipality’s treasury, and give him what remained from the paid rent of the two shops, which is 526 piasters and a half. In order to obtain approval, this decision was taken on the 24th of Shubât (1)325 (9th of March 1910). [6 signatures] |
