Description | Upon the letter, dated 23 July 1901 and numbered 3, sent by the Ministry of Forests, Mines and Agriculture, regarding declaring an opinion about the request by the Sanjak Veterinarian Inspector to reside in Jaffa. Due to the fact that the said inspector works at the sanjak veterinarian inspectorship, he must reside in in the sanjak center in Jerusalem. Besides,, the entrance and exit of animals are not particular only to the land of Egypt. A large amount of animals is imported from and exported to the eastern side, and this amount might be larger than the one for Egypt ; Since the closest center is Jerusalem center, the veterinarian inspector would be far away from it, should he reside in Jaffa. In addition, it was previously decided by the Sanjak Administrative Council and municipal councils that he would examine and mark the sheep and cattle in the Jerusalem slaughterhouse for their suitability to be slaughtered. Negotiations have started with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to find a source necessary to give him a monthly allowance of 200 piasters in addition to his salary. When the decree on this matter is obtained, it would be compulsory for him to go to the slaughterhouse everyday and if it would be necessary to employ an official in Jaffa, an examination official could be appointed there as specified in the letter, dated 2 October 1900 and numbered 5, sent by the Ministry of Forestry, Mines and Agriculture regarding the public service of the inspector. As seen, it has been considered that in every respect his residence in Jerusalem would be more suitable for the service. The 6th of Aylûl (1)317 (19th of September 1901). [5 signatures] |
