Description | Upon the Sanjak Administrative Council’s decision, dated 8 September 1908 and numbered 790, written at the back of the petition by Osman Zeki Halidî Effendi regarding the police station across the Municipal Hospital It was stated by the Ottoman State that the said place used to belong to the municipality, but as the British Consul resided in the vicinity in 1305 (1889-1890), it was conserved to be substituted with a ramification from the Imperial Army, and that the said place must be repaired through the municipal fund. It was thus inspected and found to be in a ruined and dilapidated state; it was also understood that it would not be impossible to repair it at a cost less than fifteen thousand piasters, that it would be appropriate to demolish it and sell its surplus site to the neighbor named Hanülkattan from Bethlehem, and that a new masonry place could be constructed with its worth on the side where macadams were located. A permission was thus requested from the Sanjak Administrative Council and in the decision taken on 17 August 1889, it was stated that this land was essentially included in the location owned by the municipal office, that the construction expenditures of the police station decided to be built as the need arose be covered through the land price, that the remaining sum be recorded as income by the municipal office and later be sold by the Presidency of the Municipal Office. It was thus declared that a decision was taken to relegate the matter to the Municipal Council and the of Main Register of Revenues in order to take due action in respect thereof. Following the due actions in respect thereof, an inspection has been made in accordance with the said decision and it has been understood that the the place owned by the municipality and being used as a police station has been constructed.
