Description | According to orders from the district council, dated on the 13th of Safar (1)316, the 20th of Huzayrân (1)314, number 126, all municipal inspectors were brought in for a meeting with the inspector to remind them to pay more attention to kiosks and goods in front of shops. If laxity is observed, legal procedures will be taken against them. It was recommended to announce the directions for all guilds. In order to regulate all shops and houses it was recommended to write them down again. In order to obtain approval, the respectable Yûsuf Effendi, Niqûlâ Effendi, Francis Effendi and Yasho‘a Effendi were appointed to the task; those will be accompanied by one of the collectors and inspectors as well as the headman. As for carriage owners, they should be brought in and told to improve their conduct with the people, abide by the municipality’s rules and directions and keep away from the borders of shops and homes. All reports presented about goods and carriage owners should include any transgressions which should be referred to the police. In order to facilitate collections, all shops, houses and allyways should be numbered and given names. In order for this task to be carried out, a special craftsman has been appointed for a daily wage of one riyâl. Making collections will be easier after numbering. In order to dispose of rotting goods, Dr. Fûtî Effendi was brought in and after discussions it was decided that he should inspect the area three times a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Accordingly, this decision was taken on the 22nd of Huzayrân (1)314 (4th of July 1898). [7 signatures] |
