Description | (headed paper "Mount of Olives. Jerusalem"). Summary of a conversation, heard on the Messengeries ship for Jaffa, between English traders, Levantins and a bishop Siriac[Syriac ]who was on his way to his bishopric in Mosul, about the suppression of the French consulate in Mosul and perhaps also that in Baghdad. Remarks on the consequences of the abolition of these consulates. Suggestion that the title of Consulate General be given to the post in Jerusalem and that, on the other hand, the European Consulate General be abolished (Italy, England, Austria), in order to save money. Creation by a schismatic of a foundation on the Mount of Olives on the proposal of the Princess de la Tour d'Auvergne. (PP. 96-99) |
