Description | Note on the Holy Anne's Church in Jerusalem. The restoration work, begun in 1863, was completed in February 1874, according to the architect's final indications. The buildings will consist of the church, the sanctuary itself, a sacristy and two small main buildings, as well as some outbuildings. Decision to be made on the destination that this building will receive. The French consul in Jerusalem proposes to found a college of young French seminarians or priests in St. Anne, under the supervision of the State. A similar project had been presented to the Department by Father Poyet, apostolic prothonotary and canon of the Holy Sepulchre. (PP. 362-365) |
