Description | Exile of Abu Ghosch (Mustafa). Circular addressed by him to the consuls in Jerusalem. The French consul did not reply. Amin of Abu Ghoch arrested. Complaints brought to the Pasha by the French consul against the Mutecellim of Ramlé. Removal of this governor. Recommendation made by the consul to the French protégés of Ramlé to observe the biggest reserve with the new Mutecellim. Riots in Jaffa on the occasion of insults made to an Algerian Jew by a Turkish soldier. Consul's claim. Pasha's orders on this matter. Acknowledgement of receipt of dispatch No. 16 of 14 October last announcing the provisional appointments of Mr. Dauprat, Battus, Dr. Bacquerie. Means used by the consul to fill the posts left vacant by Mr Dauprat's departure. (pp. 398-401) |
