Description | Summary of two previous despatches. Jemanis set up a trap against Ibn Semhan, one of the Keieys' leaders. Continuation of customs business. Inimity of the Seraskier de Beyrout[Beirut] and his major general against the general government of Palestine. The acts of the latter disapproved by the first two. Departure from part of the Jerusalem garrison. Murder of a Russian by a Turkish sergeant. The murderer's acquittal is scheduled. Acknowledgement of receipt of the dispatch of August 31 by which the expenses of the chancery of this consulate are fixed at 25 fr for 1847. Acknowledgement of receipt of the circular of 6 September and of the ordinance of 31 August which exempts steamers from the proportional duty. (pp. 391-394) |
