Description | Zarif Mustafa Pasha is appointed Governor General of Palestine to replace Mehemet Pasha. Troubles in Palestine. Pilgrims arrive for the Easter holidays. Precautions taken for the maintenance of peace and good order. Holy Land claimed in the discussion with the Prussian consul the intervention of the Spanish ambassador in Constantinople. The Reverend's physical and intellectual strengths are so weakened that there is an urgent need to replace him. (pp. 425-426) |
