Description | Declaration of war at the Grand Sheik Abougosch Gate. The need to punish its crimes and to compress the revolt by imposing exemplary punishments that can serve as a lesson. The security of our convents and the existence of our religious and our nationals are totally compromised. Impossibility to save us in any way. Urgency of sending Ottoman troops inside and a French cruise in Jaffa harbour. Advance and rapprochement of the Consul of England. Thank you visit by the Anglican Bishop and the entire English colony for the services rendered to them by the King's Consul and appeal to his good offices. . (pp. 270-271) |
