Description | Refusal by the authority to let land and freely sell to Jaffa a shipment of salt belonging to a French subject from Cyprus, Sr Béraud. Offer of amicable conciliation refused by Béraud's successors in title. Protest by the manager of the consulate in the event that the King's embassy has not consented on behalf of His Majesty's government to the maintenance of the salt monopoly. Protest by the student consul managing the King's consulate in Jerusalem in the event that the embassy has not granted on behalf of the King's government an exception to Article 2 of the 1838 treaty concerning the maintenance of the salt monopoly.
