Description | Collisions in Bethlehem between Greek and Latin monks; Armenians join forces with Greeks against Latins. A Greek bishop beaten. The Nativity Star of the Latins abducted during the conflict. Divan position about it. Walk printed at the discussion by the Pasha. The Pasha declares that he does not recognise the French consul's right to protect the Latins and to interfere in the affairs of their convents. The consul withdraws and protests the next day in writing. The protest is annexed. Reflections of the consul on this subject. The new reverend is a straight, loyal man who understands business.
