Description | Summary of two previous dispatches on the parties that divide Palestine and on customs matters. Jemanis set up a trap against Ibn Semhan, one of the Keïeys' leaders. Continuation of customs business. Absolution of those who attacked her. Inimity of the Seraskier of Beyrout and his major general against the general government of Palestine. The acts of the latter disapproved by the first two. Departure from a part of the Jerusalem garrison. Murder of a Russian by a Turkish sergeant. The charge against the murderer appears to have to be dropped. Acknowledgement of receipt of the Minister's September 7 dispatch No. 4. The Reverend Custos of the Latin convents of the Holy Land is still in Egypt. (PP. 180-183) |
